Corporate/Business Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Springfield, MA
Responsibilities:

  • General corporate law matters, including entity formation, amendments, dissolutions, mergers, review and update of minute books and stock ledgers, preparing authorizing resolutions, documenting equity transfers, Certificates of Good Standing, IRS filings, MA DOR filings and assisting with closings.
  • Submission of documents for filing with State and Federal agencies, town clerk offices.
  • State Licensing processes, including ABCC liquor licensing.
  • Commercial and back up residential Real Estate Conveyancing and Financing, closing support, title insurance policies, Lender documentation, title clearing and recording at Registries of Deeds.
  • Performing other paralegal duties and special projects as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to draft correspondence
  • Excellent working knowledge of technology, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Adobe
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with and keep sensitive and personal information confidential
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree highly preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate highly preferred

Legal Assistant for Litigation Practice
Springfield, MA

Responsibilities:

  • Calendaring and Scheduling: Manage and maintain the lawyers’ calendars, ensuring accurate tracking of court dates, deadlines, and appointments. Coordinate with attorneys to keep them informed of upcoming events.
  • Document Preparation and Management: Prepare and format legal documents, including case captions, pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files for easy retrieval.
  • Client Interactions: Act as the initial point of contact for clients, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy in all interactions. Schedule client meetings and appointments for the litigators.
  • Telephone Management: Answer incoming calls to the firm’s main number with a friendly and helpful attitude. Take detailed messages and prepare summaries of incoming calls for distribution within the firm.
  • Filing and Administrative Support: Handle copying, mailing, and filing of legal documents. Provide general administrative support, such as data entry, filing, and office organization.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Fast and accurate typing skills are essential.

Qualifications:

  • Some legal experience is preferred, but we are willing to train for litigation in particular.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office products and fast and accurate typing.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to tasks and responsibilities.
