Doherty, Wallace represents lenders, borrowers, and investors involved in real estate projects of all sizes and types throughout Western Massachusetts. The firm’s representation includes commercial, residential, and industrial developments and covers all areas of real estate practice, including the negotiation of financing terms and the preparation and review of loan documents; the negotiation and drafting of land acquisition agreements, construction agreements, leases; land-use planning; property tax consulting & representation; and advice on zoning, conservation, and environmental issues. The firm also provides timely counsel for individuals buying, selling, or refinancing a home or acquiring an investment property.

The firm participates in developments involving financing from a variety of public and private sources. For example, the firm represented the tenants association of a 314-unit mobile home park which purchased the complex from an out-of-state owner using federal, state, and local funds.

The firm structures complex transactions involving parties with disparate interests, such as residential housing constructed by partnerships of for-profit and not-for-profit developers.

Doherty, Wallace has a substantial depth of knowledge with respect to local, state, and federal regulations affecting commercial real estate development, and considerable experience in land use permitting advocacy.
